Weebotec is a young and innovative company founded in 2021 with the goal of creating tailor-made refractory solutions for the steel industry.
As the youngest member of the Weerulin Group, we stand by our guiding principle: offering the highest quality and best performance in order to generate the lowest TCO (total cost of ownership) for the customer. Weebotec is lean. Short decision-making paths ensure the fastest response times for optimal customer benefit. Our production is located in Mülheim an der Ruhr, in the heart of the German steel industry.
Weebotec was founded by Weerulin together with its partner Marc André Bombeck. Marc is an internationally experienced and recognized expert for tailor-made refractory solutions for the steel industry and for high ladle opening rates. As an accomplished problem solver, he combines a decade of experience in the steel industry with another decade in the refractory industry.
In addition to the demand for clean steel, the European steel industry is increasingly committed to the production of green steel. This also applies to our refractory products used in steel production, including well filler.
WEEBOTEC only uses minerals as raw materials that occur naturally or are burned in the country of origin. They are specially prepared for our production in German mineral milling plants. We do not use any substances hazardous to the environment according to the Ordinance on Hazardous Substances. External experts for occupational safety continuously monitor compliance with all regulations. Even after industrial use, our products are environmentally friendly: after appropriate processing, they can be reused as recycling material. When deposited, our products have no adverse impact on soil or groundwater whatsoever.
The Weerulin Group is an internationally successful family company for unshaped refractory products, currently managed in the third generation by Robert and Richard Fechner. The core company is Weerulin, which has been developing and producing monolithic refractory products for over 70 years as a strong partner of the steel industry.
The Weerulin Group operates mixing plants in Germany, Brazil, and Turkey. The production of basic refractory materials is planned in India starting in 2022.
A total of 160 employees work at the companies in the Weerulin Group. Together we produce around 60,000 tonnes of refractory products and supply over 180 steel plants in 35 countries.
